Wish it went Better2020-06-09The facility seemed nice when we got there. My mother was placed there for 90days. Her staff the 1st 20 days were blissful. A good bit of the nurses needed attitude adjustments after those days to where my mother, who is not very verbal had to tell them that they are not very nice., and it went downhill from there. They began to give her meds and could not explain what they were for why the color changed, etc. Seems like when you are a more verbal patient and you speak up for yourself they began to care less. They would come to her room with orders to say they are doing something and she wasn't even the right patient. This began to get concerning. We voiced our concerns on numerous occasion with no solution. The only thing my mother began to look forward to was THERAPY! She loved their therapy unit and the staff. Her PT became almost like family to her. But she became to motivate herself to get mobile just to get out of there. The ONLY SUGGESTION I WOULD MAKE TO THE HALL STAFFING THERE IS TO consider if this was your parent, if you don't like your job or having a bad day, adjust yourself before you feel the need to do or say some of the things I've witnessed.I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
Brenny12018-01-15This Facility has the most caring staff I have watched them go out of there way to make sure my loved ones are comfortable and their issues are addressed, our loved one has Alzheimer's so I know how challenging it can be for staff.I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Anonymous1165712502015-12-29Camelot of Broussard has been very good for my mother-in-law. The staff are all very involved and very nice. She stays in a nice one-bedroom apartment with a little kitchenette, a big bathroom and a big closet. The food there was awesome. She said she should quit going to dinner, because she’s gaining weight from all the food. They play games like bingo. They take them to Mass, to their doctors’ appointments, to Walgreens, Walmart, and the library. They have chair exercises and movie week with popcorn. The only thing my mother-in-law complained about was that they only give her a bath at night, and she wants her bath in the morning. And that she has to walk down a long hall to get to the dining hall. What I like about Camelot is that the residents can transition into the nursing home part of the facility when the time comes.I am a friend or relative of a resident

Caring1056063502015-05-26The visit at Camelot was very good; they gave me a nice and very pleasant tour. It was very clean, and the people were very helpful. The dining room seemed a bit crowded; the apartments were fine. There seemed to be a fair amount of activities. One negative: it didn’t have any patios or garden areas.I visited this facility
Brenny12018-01-15looking to place a family member here. We were very impressed with the staff and the facility, we even met some of the residents who seemed very pleasant.I visited this facility

Broussard is a small city in Lafayette and St. Martin parishes in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The population was 6,754 from the 2005 Census Est.
Broussard is part of the Lafayette Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Originally named Côte Gelée (Frozen Hills) because of its hilly ridge area and the severe winter of 1784. Broussard was founded in 1884. It was named after Valsin Broussard, a prominent local merchant, who formed the first Vigilante Committee when his own store was robbed. He was also a direct descendant of Joseph Gaurhept Broussard de Beau Soleil, one of the first 200 Acadians to arrive in Louisiana on February 27, 1765 aboard the Santo Domingo.
